Ján FAKLA
(*1960) author, dramaturgist, producer
Born in Banská Bystrica. He graduated the Gymnasium in Kremnica and theatre production at DAMU in Prague. In the years 1976 – 1990 a 2010 – 2017 he has been an author, actor, and manager of the Kremnica Theatre Underground. As a dramaturgist, he worked for the art agency Slovkoncert, in the Slovak Television in Banská Bystrica, as well as in the Theatre of J. G. Tajovský in Zvolen. He also worked as a director in the Slovak national radio in Banská Bystrica. He was the founder, dramaturgist and director of the European Festival of Humour and Satire KREMNICKÉ GAGY, he organised it for 25 years (1981 – 1991 + 2004 –2017). For 25 years he was also the owner of the G.A.G. – art agency, Ltd. (1993 – 2018). He has co-founded the AMPLIFIER Festival – New Cabaret & Street Art in Banská Štiavnica (2016) and the Ensemble of Irregular Theatre NPO (2017). He is specializes in author´s creative, dramaturgy and production, he participated in the projects City of Culture Banská Štiavnica 2019 and City of Culture Humenné 2024. He is the co-author and/or dramaturg of the productions Koza a kladivo (The Goat and the Hammer), Exkurzia do (ne)slobody (Excursion to (Un)Freedom), Prečo sa morka prala s krůtou (Why the Turkey Fought the Turkey), Štiavnica nielen strieborná (Štiavnica Not Only Silver), the original non-verbal street show WELCOME TO STUPIDITY, the original bar cabaret noir BOHOROVNÍ (The GODLIKE), two versions of the hybrid theatre EX-TRÉMISTI – hrdinovia, ktorí stratil strach I. a II. (EX-TREMISTS – Heroes Who Lost Their Fear I and II), and the international music and street show CIRCUS CARAVANA (V4+UA).
Dušan KRNÁČ
(*1954) scenographer, graphic designer, performer
Born in Lučenec. In 1977, he absolved the Faculty of Pedagogy at the University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica. As an art teacher, he worked in Fiľakovo, as an artist in the Theatre of J. G. Tajovský in Banská Bystrica (1986 – 1992). He works as a graphic designer, scenographer, director of alternative theatre and performer. Since the middle of the nineties, the core of his artistic work has been the metaconcept ANTICOMICS (formed by Anticomics, Minimalcomics, and Totalcomics). He was also a member of the Slovak Art Union. His works were presented at many exhibition both in Slovakia and abroad. He is the co-founder of the Centre of independent culture GARDEN in Banská Bystrica. He has co-founded the AMPLIFIER Festival – New Cabaret & Street Art in Banská Štiavnica (2016) and the Ensemble of Irregular Theatre NPO (2017), before he was also the member of Kremnica Theatre in Underground.
Milan LICHÝ
(*1961) civic activist
He was born and lives in Banská Bystrica. After graduating from J. G. Tajovský Gymnasium in Banská Bystrica, he studied at the Faculty of Forestry in Zvolen. From 1984 to 2024, he worked in the field of forest management. He has been active in municipal and regional politics for a long time. He focuses on environmental issues, urban history, and culture. For a short time, he was a member of the Kremnica Underground Theater (KDvP). Together with other KDvP members, he helped found the AMPLIFIER Festival – New Cabaret & Street Art (2016) in Banská Štiavnica and the Ensemble of Irregular Theater n.o. (2017).
Jana Fakla MIKITKOVÁ
(*1988) director, dramaturgist
Hails from Humenné, where she started as a elocutionist and actress at an art school. She has a degree in theatre direction and dramaturgy from VŠMU in Bratislava (2013) with prof. V. Strnisko. During her studies, she took part in several creative workshops in Slovakia, Czech republic, and Italy. She studied half a year by the Ensemble Theatre at the Rose Bruford College in London. Her professional career started with a cooperation with the director K. Žiška in the play A lion sleeps in the elipse for Theatre Ludus in Bratislava. To this day, she has (co-)authored and directed plays for children and teenagers Eaten by the Alphabet, 3Fables, Caution! Good dog!, and Caution! Double Stress! for this theatre. For the Bratislava Puppet Theater, she created the productions Finger on the Map and Rainbow Fairy Tales. As a director and script-writer, she is mostly focusing on plays for children as well as researching the works of the director Peter Scherhaufer from the Theatre Goose on the String, who collaborated with the Kremnica Theatre Underground. She teaches at the Art School of J. Kresánek in Bratislava and she is also the leader of the literary-dramatic department and DS Lano. She has co-founded the AMPLIFIER Festival – New Cabaret & Street Art in Banská Štiavnica (2016) and the Ensemble of Irregular Theatre NPO (2017), before he was also the member of Kremnica Theatre in Underground. For AND, she created the productions Koza a kladivo (Goat and Hammer), Exkurzia do (ne)slobody (Excursion to (Un)Freedom), Prečo sa morka prala s krůtou (Why the Turkey Fought the Turkey), Štiavnica nielen strieborná (Štiavnica Not Only Silver), as well as the original nonverbal street show WELCOME TO STUPIDITY, the original bar cabaret noir BOHOROVNÍ (The GODLIKE), and the hybrid theater performed by the audience EX-TRÉMISTI – hrdinovia, ktorí stratil strach I. a II. (EX-TRÉMISTS – Heroes Who Lost Their Fear I and II). She also played a significant role in the projects City of Culture Banská Štiavnica 2019 and City of Culture Humenné 2024. Currently, she is mainly involved in the creation and direction of modern street and social-civic productions and collaborates with foreign artists on international projects and festivals. Her latest premiere was the international monumental street art performance CIRCUS CARAVANA (V4+UA) in Krakow, supported by the Visegrad Fund and Creative Europe. Her work has been presented at foreign festivals: Festival ULICA, Krakow, Festival Művészetek Völgye Fesztivál/Valley of Arts, Hungary, Festival Za dveřmi, Prague, Festival REGIONY, Hradec Králové; domestic festivals: Dotyky a spojenia, Festival POHODA, Milan Sládek’s European Pantomime Festival, Anasoft Litera, Kremnické gagy, Akademický Prešov, Festival slobody, Festival AMPLIÓN. She publishes in the professional magazine Javisko (Stage) and is a member of theater and recitation juries for non-professional art. She teaches and is the leader of the literary-dramatic department and DS Lano at ZUŠ J. Kresánka in Bratislava. She has long collaborated on the border between established and non-established culture.
Tomáš CÍGER
(*1990) illustrator, graphic of comics art, designer
Comes from Kremnica, where he has worked for the cinema Akropola and the City cultural centre. He is an absolvent of the Institute of Aurel Stodola of the Electrotechnical faculty of the Žilina university in Liptovský Mikuláš. Currently, he works and lives as a freelance illustrator, comic artist, designer and computer boy by the pseudonym of Eniac. He likes French electronic music, Slovak animation, and is interested in sci-fi and surrealism. He has co-founded the AMPLIFIER Festival – New Cabaret & Street Art in Banská Štiavnica (2016) and the Ensemble of Irregular Theatre NPO (2017), before he was also the member of Kremnica Theatre in Underground.
